Psalms 66

 

לַמְנַצֵּחַ שִׁיר מִזְמוֹר הָרִיעוּ לֵאלֹהִים כָּל־הָאָרֶץ׃   66:1

Psal. 66:1   A psalm, a song for the leader:

                     Raise a sound to God, all the earth!

זַמְּרוּ כְבוֹד־שְׁמוֹ שִׂימוּ כָבוֹד תְּהִלָּתוֹ׃   66:2

Psal. 66:2   Sing the glory of His name!

                              Make His praise glorious!

אִמְרוּ לֵאלֹהִים מַה־נּוֹרָא מַעֲשֶׂיךָ בְּרֹב עֻזְּךָ יְכַחֲשׁוּ לְךָ אֹיְבֶיךָ׃   66:3

Psal. 66:3   Say to God, “How awesome are Your works!

                              By the abundance of Your might Your enemies shall grovel to You.”

כָּל־הָאָרֶץ יִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְךָ וִיזַמְּרוּ־לָךְ יְזַמְּרוּ שִׁמְךָ סֶלָה׃   66:4

Psal. 66:4   All the earth shall bow down to You,

                              as they sing praise to You;

                      they will sing Your name.            Selah.

לְכוּ וּרְאוּ מִפְעֲלוֹת אֱלֹהִים נוֹרָא עֲלִילָה עַל־בְּנֵי אָדָם׃   66:5

Psal. 66:5   Come, and see the works of God,

                               the astonishing deed concerning the children of humanity.

הָפַךְ יָם לְיַבָּשָׁה בַּנָּהָר יַעַבְרוּ בְרָגֶל שָׁם נִשְׂמְחָה־בּוֹ׃   66:6

Psal. 66:6   He turned the sea to dry land,

                               through the river they would pass on foot;

                       there we must have rejoiced in Him.

מֹשֵׁל בִּגְבוּרָתֹו עֹולָם עֵינָיו בַּגֹּויִם תִּצְפֶּינָה הַסֹּורְרִים אַל־(יָרִימוּ) [יָרוּמוּ] לָמֹו סֶלָה׃   66:7

Psal. 66:7   Ruling with His might always,

                               His “eyes” shall keep watch on the nations;

                      let not the rebellious exalt themselves.            Selah.

The word in the parentheses has a yad where a vav should be.  The correction is in the brackets.

בָּרְכוּ עַמִּים אֱלֹהֵינוּ וְהַשְׁמִיעוּ קוֹל תְּהִלָּתוֹ׃   66:8

Psal. 66:8   Peoples, bless our God,

                               and make heard the sound of His praise,

הַשָּׂם נַפְשֵׁנוּ בַּחַיִּים וְלֹא־נָתַן לַמּוֹט רַגְלֵנוּ׃   66:9

Psal. 66:9   Who sets our soul in life,

                               and does not permit our foot to waver.

כִּי־בְחַנְתָּנוּ אֱלֹהִים צְרַפְתָּנוּ כִּצְרָף־כָּסֶף׃   66:10

Psal. 66:10   For You test us, God,

                                You refine us,

                        as silver is refined.

הֲבֵאתָנוּ בַמְּצוּדָה שַׂמְתָּ מוּעָקָה בְמָתְנֵינוּ׃   66:11

Psal. 66:11   You bring us into a net,

                                 You set constraint on our loins.

הִרְכַּבְתָּ אֱנוֹשׁ לְרֹאשֵׁנוּ בָּאנוּ־בָאֵשׁ וּבַמַּיִם וַתּוֹצִיאֵנוּ לָרְוָיָה׃   66:12

Psal. 66:12   You make men ride over our head,

                                 we go into fire and through water;

                         then You bring us out to abundance.

אָבוֹא בֵיתְךָ בְעוֹלוֹת אֲשַׁלֵּם לְךָ נְדָרָי׃   66:13

Psal. 66:13   I will enter Your house with burnt offerings,

                                  I will fulfill my vows to You

אֲשֶׁר־פָּצוּ שְׂפָתָי וְדִבֶּר־פִּי בַּצַּר־לִי׃   66:14

Psal. 66:14   that my lips uttered

                                 and my mouth spoke in my distress.

עֹלוֹת מֵחִים אַעֲלֶה־לָּךְ עִם־קְטֹרֶת אֵילִים אֶעֱשֶׂה בָקָר עִם־עַתּוּדִים סֶלָה׃   66:15

Psal. 66:15   I will offer burnt offerings of fat ones to You

                                 with the sweet smoke of rams;

                        I will prepare cattle with he-goats.            Selah.

לְכוּ־שִׁמְעוּ וַאֲסַפְּרָה כָּל־יִרְאֵי אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה לְנַפְשִׁי׃   66:16

Psal. 66:16   All those reverent of God,

                                  come listen as I declare what He does for my soul.

אֵלָיו פִּי־קָרָאתִי וְרוֹמַם תַּחַת לְשׁוֹנִי׃   66:17

Psal. 66:17   I made my mouth cry out to Him,

                                  and praise was on the tip of my tongue.

אָוֶן אִם־רָאִיתִי בְלִבִּי לֹא יִשְׁמַע אֲדֹנָי׃   66:18

Psal. 66:18   If I had considered iniquity in my heart,

                                  the Master would not listen.

אָכֵן שָׁמַע אֱלֹהִים הִקְשִׁיב בְּקוֹל תְּפִלָּתִי׃   66:19

Psal. 66:19   Indeed God does hear;

                                  He attends to the sound of my prayer.

בָּרוּךְ אֱלֹהִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־הֵסִיר תְּפִלָּתִי וְחַסְדּוֹ מֵאִתִּי׃   66:20

Psal. 66:20   Blessed is God,

                                 Who does not turn my prayer aside

                        or His mercy from me.
