וִיהוֹשֻׁעַ זָקֵן בָּא בַּיָּמִים וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֵלָיו אַתָּה זָקַנְתָּה בָּאתָ בַיָּמִים וְהָאָרֶץ נִשְׁאֲרָה הַרְבֵּה־מְאֹד   13:1

לְרִשְׁתָּהּ׃

Josh. 13:1   Now Joshua was old, he had come with days, and the Lord said to him, “You have grown old, you have come with days, and there remains very much of the land to possess it.”                                                                                                                          [Return to Josh. 22:1]

זֹאת הָאָרֶץ הַנִּשְׁאָרֶת כָּל־גְּלִילוֹת הַפְּלִשְׁתִּים וְכָל־הַגְּשׁוּרִי׃   13:2

Josh. 13:2   “This is the land that remains:  All the regions of the Philistines and all of the Geshurites,

מִן־הַשִּׁיחוֹר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי מִצְרַיִם וְעַד גְּבוּל עֶקְרוֹן צָפוֹנָה לַכְּנַעֲנִי תֵּחָשֵׁב חֲמֵשֶׁת סַרְנֵי פְלִשְׁתִּים   13:3

הָעַזָּתִי וְהָאַשְׁדּוֹדִי הָאֶשְׁקְלוֹנִי הַגִּתִּי וְהָעֶקְרוֹנִי וְהָעַוִּים׃

Josh. 13:3   from the Shihor, which is opposite Egypt, and as far as the border of Ekron northward -- to the Canaanites it shall be reckoned -- the five lords of the Philistines, of the Gazites, and of the Ashdodites, of the Ashkelonites, of the Gittites, and of the Ekronites, and the Avvim

מִתֵּימָן כָּל־אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי וּמְעָרָה אֲשֶׁר לַצִּידֹנִים עַד־אֲפֵקָה עַד גְּבוּל הָאֱמֹרִי׃   13:4

Josh. 13:4   from the south; all the land of the Canaanite; and Mearah, which is of the Zidonians, to Aphek, to the border of the Amorites,

וְהָאָרֶץ הַגִּבְלִי וְכָל־הַלְּבָנוֹן מִזְרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ מִבַּעַל גָּד תַּחַת הַר־חֶרְמוֹן עַד לְבוֹא חֲמָת׃   13:5

Josh. 13:5   and the land of the Gibalites, and all of Lebanon toward the rising of the sun from Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to the entry of Hamath,

כָּל־יֹשְׁבֵי הָהָר מִן־הַלְּבָנוֹן עַד־מִשְׂרְפֹת מַיִם כָּל־צִידֹנִים אָנֹכִי אוֹרִישֵׁם מִפְּנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל רַק   13:6

הַפִּלֶהָ לְיִשְׂרָאֵל בְּנַחֲלָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוִּיתִיךָ׃

Josh. 13:6   all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephoth-maim, all the Zidonians.  I will drive them out from before the children of Israel; only allot it to Israel as an inheritance as I have commanded you.”

וְעַתָּה חַלֵּק אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת בְּנַחֲלָה לְתִשְׁעַת הַשְּׁבָטִים וַחֲצִי הַשֵּׁבֶט הַמְנַשֶּׁה׃   13:7

Josh. 13:7   “So now apportion this land in an inheritance to the nine tribes and the half the tribe of Manasseh.”

עִמּוֹ הָראוּבֵנִי וְהַגָּדִי לָקְחוּ נַחֲלָתָם אֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה בְּעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה כַּאֲשֶׁר נָתַן לָהֶם   13:8

מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יְהוָה׃

Josh. 13:8   With it, the Reubenite and the Gadite had received their inheritance which Moses had given to them on the side of the Jordan eastward, as Moses, servant of the Lord, gave to them

מֵעֲרוֹעֵר אֲשֶׁר עַל־שְׂפַת־נַחַל אַרְנוֹן וְהָעִיר אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹךְ־הַנַּחַל וְכָל־הַמִּישֹׁר מֵידְבָא עַד־דִּיבוֹן׃   13:9

Josh. 13:9   from the Aroer that is on the side of the valley of Arnon and the city that is in the middle of the valley and the entire table land, Medeba to Dibon,

וְכֹל עָרֵי סִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי אֲשֶׁר מָלַךְ בְּחֶשְׁבּוֹן עַד־גְּבוּל בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן׃   13:10

Josh. 13:10   and all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon,

וְהַגִּלְעָד וּגְבוּל הַגְּשׁוּרִי וְהַמַּעֲכָתִי וְכֹל הַר חֶרְמוֹן וְכָל־הַבָּשָׁן עַד־סַלְכָה׃   13:11

Josh. 13:11   and the Gilead and the border of the Geshurite and the Maacathite and all Mount Hermon and all Bashan to Salcah,

כָּל־מַמְלְכוּת עוֹג בַּבָּשָׁן אֲשֶׁר־מָלַךְ בְּעַשְׁתָּרוֹת וּבְאֶדְרֶעִי הוּא נִשְׁאַר מִיֶּתֶר הָרְפָאִים וַיַּכֵּם מֹשֶׁה   13:12

וַיֹּרִשֵׁם׃

Josh. 13:12   all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, who ruled in Ashtaroth and in Edrei -- the same were left of the remnant when Moses smote them and drove them out.

וְלֹא הוֹרִישׁוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הַגְּשׁוּרִי וְאֶת־הַמַּעֲכָתִי וַיֵּשֶׁב גְּשׁוּר וּמַעֲכָת בְּקֶרֶב יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד הַיּוֹם   13:13

הַזֶּה׃

Josh. 13:13   But the children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurite and the Maacathite, and Geshur and Maacath have dwelled in the midst of Israel until this day.

רַק לְשֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לֹא נָתַן נַחֲלָה אִשֵּׁי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נַחֲלָתוֹ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר־לוֹ׃   13:14

Josh. 13:14   He did not give an inheritance only to the tribe of Levi; the fire offerings of the Lord, God of Israel, those were its inheritance, as He had spoken to it.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־רְאוּבֵן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃   13:15

Josh. 13:15   And Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their families.

וַיְהִי לָהֶם הַגְּבוּל מֵעֲרוֹעֵר אֲשֶׁר עַל־שְׂפַת־נַחַל אַרְנוֹן וְהָעִיר אֲשֶׁר בְּתוֹךְ־הַנַּחַל וְכָל־הַמִּישֹׁר עַל־   13:16

מֵידְבָא׃

Josh. 13:16   And the border from Aroer that is on the edge of the valley of Arnon and the city that is in the middle of the valley and all the table land by Madeba,

חֶשְׁבּוֹן וְכָל־עָרֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר בַּמִּישֹׁר דִּיבוֹן וּבָמוֹת בַּעַל וּבֵית בַּעַל מְעוֹן׃   13:17

Josh. 13:17   Heshbon and all its cities that are in the table land, Dibon and Bamoth-baal and Beth Baal-meon, was theirs,

וְיַהְצָה וּקְדֵמֹת וּמֵפָעַת׃   13:18

Josh. 13:18   and Jahaz and Kedemoth and Mephaath,

וְקִרְיָתַיִם וְשִׂבְמָה וְצֶרֶת הַשַּׁחַר בְּהַר הָעֵמֶק׃   13:19

Josh. 13:19   and Kiriathaim and Sibmah and Zereth Shahar on the mountain of the valley,

וּבֵית פְּעוֹר וְאַשְׁדּוֹת הַפִּסְגָּה וּבֵית הַיְשִׁמוֹת׃   13:20

Josh. 13:20   and Beth Peor and the ravines of Pisgah, and Beth Jeshimoth,

וְכֹל עָרֵי הַמִּישֹׁר וְכָל־מַמְלְכוּת סִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי אֲשֶׁר מָלַךְ בְּחֶשְׁבּוֹן אֲשֶׁר הִכָּה מֹשֶׁה אֹתוֹ   13:21

וְאֶת־נְשִׂיאֵי מִדְיָן אֶת־אֱוִי וְאֶת־רֶקֶם וְאֶת־צוּר וְאֶת־חוּר וְאֶת־רֶבַע נְסִיכֵי סִיחוֹן יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ׃

Josh. 13:21   and all the cities of the plain and all the kingdom of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who ruled in Heshbon, whom Moses smote, him with the princes of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, the princes of Sihon, of the inhabitants of the land.

וְאֶת־בִּלְעָם בֶּן־בְּעוֹר הַקּוֹסֵם הָרְגוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּחֶרֶב אֶל־חַלְלֵיהֶם׃   13:22

Josh. 13:22   And the children of Israel slew Balaam son of Beor, the soothsayer, by the sword among their slain.

וַיְהִי גְּבוּל בְּנֵי רְאוּבֵן הַיַּרְדֵּן וּגְבוּל זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי־רְאוּבֵן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶן׃   13:23

Josh. 13:23   And the border of the children of Reuben was the Jordan, and this region was the inheritance of the children of Reuben according to their families, the cities and their villages.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לְמַטֵּה־גָד לִבְנֵי־גָד לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם׃   13:24

Josh. 13:24   And Moses had given to the tribe of Gad, to the children of Gad, according to their families.

וַיְהִי לָהֶם הַגְּבוּל יַעְזֵר וְכָל־עָרֵי הַגִּלְעָד וַחֲצִי אֶרֶץ בְּנֵי עַמּוֹן עַד־עֲרוֹעֵר אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי רַבָּה׃   13:25

Josh. 13:25   And the region of Jazer and all the cities of Gilead and half the land of the children of Ammon to Aroer, which is opposite Rabbah, was theirs

וּמֵחֶשְׁבּוֹן עַד־רָמַת הַמִּצְפֶּה וּבְטֹנִים וּמִמַּחֲנַיִם עַד־גְּבוּל לִדְבִר׃   13:26

Josh. 13:26   and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from Mahanaim to the border of Lidbir,

וּבָעֵמֶק בֵּית הָרָם וּבֵית נִמְרָה וְסֻכּוֹת וְצָפוֹן יֶתֶר מַמְלְכוּת סִיחוֹן מֶלֶךְ חֶשְׁבּוֹן הַיַּרְדֵּן וּגְבֻל עַד־   13:27

קְצֵה יָם־כִּנֶּרֶת עֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה׃

Josh. 13:27   and in the valley, Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon, king of Heshbon, the Jordan and the region as far as the edge of the Sea of Chinnereth on the eastward side of the Jordan.

זֹאת נַחֲלַת בְּנֵי־גָד לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם הֶעָרִים וְחַצְרֵיהֶם׃   13:28

Josh. 13:28   This was the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families, the cities and their villages.

וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה לַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט מְנַשֶּׁה וַיְהִי לַחֲצִי מַטֵּה בְנֵי־מְנַשֶּׁה לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם׃   13:29

Josh. 13:29   And Moses had given to the half tribe of Manasseh, and it was for the half tribe of the children of Manasseh according to their families.

וַיְהִי גְבוּלָם מִמַּחֲנַיִם כָּל־הַבָּשָׁן כָּל־מַמְלְכוּת עוֹג מֶלֶךְ־הַבָּשָׁן וְכָל־חַוֹּת יָאִיר אֲשֶׁר בַּבָּשָׁן שִׁשִּׁים   13:30

עִיר׃

Josh. 13:30   And their territory was from Mahanaim, all of Bashan, all the kingdom of Og, king of Bashan, and all the villages of Jair that are in Bashan, sixty cities.

וַחֲצִי הַגִּלְעָד וְעַשְׁתָּרוֹת וְאֶדְרֶעִי עָרֵי מַמְלְכוּת עוֹג בַּבָּשָׁן לִבְנֵי מָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה לַחֲצִי בְנֵי־מָכִיר   13:31

לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם׃

Josh. 13:31   And half of Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, the cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the children of Machir son of Manasseh, for the half of the children of Machir according to their families.

אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר־נִחַל מֹשֶׁה בְּעַרְבוֹת מוֹאָב מֵעֵבֶר לְיַרְדֵּן יְרִיחוֹ מִזְרָחָה׃   13:32

Josh. 13:32   These are the inheritances which Moses had distributed on the plains of Moab from the other side of the Jordan, of Jericho, eastward,

וּלְשֵׁבֶט הַלֵּוִי לֹא־נָתַן מֹשֶׁה נַחֲלָה יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא נַחֲלָתָם כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר לָהֶם׃   13:33

Josh. 13:33   But Moses had not given any inheritance to the tribe of Levi.  The Lord, God of Israel, He is their inheritance, as He spoke to them.
