שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד שָׂמַחְתִּי בְּאֹמְרִים לִי בֵּית יְהוָה נֵלֵךְ׃   122:1

Psal. 122:1   A song of ascendance to David:

                         I rejoiced on their having said to me,

                                 “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

עֹמְדוֹת הָיוּ רַגְלֵינוּ בִּשְׁעָרַיִךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃   122:2

Psal. 122:2   Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.

יְרוּשָׁלִַם הַבְּנוּיָה כְּעִיר שֶׁחֻבְּרָה־לָּהּ יַחְדָּו׃   122:3

Psal. 122:3   Jerusalem, that is established as a city

                                 that is joined together,

שֶׁשָּׁם עָלוּ שְׁבָטִים שִׁבְטֵי־יָהּ עֵדוּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵל לְהֹדוֹת לְשֵׁם יְהוָה׃   122:4

Psal. 122:4   where tribes went up,

                                 the tribes of the Lord, Israel's testimony,

                         to give thanks to the name of the Lord!

כִּי שָׁמָּה יָשְׁבוּ כִסְאוֹת לְמִשְׁפָּט כִּסְאוֹת לְבֵית דָּוִיד׃   122:5

Psal. 122:5   For there are thrones set for judgment,

                                 thrones for the house of David.

שַׁאֲלוּ שְׁלוֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָם יִשְׁלָיוּ אֹהֲבָיִךְ׃   122:6

Psal. 122:6   Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:

                                 “Let your lovers prosper.”

יְהִי־שָׁלוֹם בְּחֵילֵךְ שַׁלְוָה בְּאַרְמְנוֹתָיִךְ׃   122:7

Psal. 122:7   “Let peace be within your walls,

                                 prosperity within your palaces.”

לְמַעַן אַחַי וְרֵעָי אֲדַבְּרָה־נָּא שָׁלוֹם בָּךְ׃   122:8

Psal. 122:8   For the sakes of my brothers and friends

                                 I must now say, “Peace be within you.”

לְמַעַן בֵּית־יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֲבַקְשָׁה טוֹב לָךְ׃   122:9

Psal. 122:9   For the sake of the house of the Lord, our God,

                                I must pray for your good.
