וַיָּקָם אֶלְיָשִׁיב הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדוֹל וְאֶחָיו הַכֹּהֲנִים וַיִּבְנוּ אֶת־שַׁעַר הַצֹּאן הֵמָּה קִדְּשׁוּהוּ וַיַּעֲמִידוּ דַּלְתֹתָיו 3:1
וְעַד־מִגְדַּל הַמֵּאָה קִדְּשׁוּהוּ עַד מִגְדַּל חֲנַנְאֵל׃
Nehe. 3:1 Then Eliashib, the high priest, rose up with his brethren, the priests, and they rebuilt the sheep gate. They sanctified it and erected its doors. And they sanctified it up to the tower of Hammeah, as far as the tower of Hananel.
וְעַל־יָדֹו בָנוּ אַנְשֵׁי יְרֵחֹו וְעַל־יָדֹו בָנָה זַכּוּר בֶּן־אִמְרִי׃ 3:2
Nehe. 3:2 And next to him men of Jericho built. Zaccur son of Imri also built near him.
וְאֵת שַׁעַר הַדָּגִים בָּנוּ בְּנֵי הַסְּנָאָה הֵמָּה קֵרוּהוּ וַיַּעֲמִידוּ דַּלְתֹתָיו מַנְעוּלָיו וּבְרִיחָיו׃ 3:3
Nehe. 3:3 And the sons of Hassenaah built the fish gate. They laid its beams and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars.
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק מְרֵמֹות בֶּן־אוּרִיָּה בֶּן־הַקֹּוץ וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק מְשֻׁלָּם בֶּן־בֶּרֶכְיָה בֶּן־מְשֵׁיזַבְאֵל 3:4
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק צָדֹוק בֶּן־בַּעֲנָא׃
Nehe. 3:4 And next to them Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hekkuz repaired. Meshullam son of Berechiah son of Meshezabel also repaired near them. And next to them Zadok son of Baana repaired.
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַתְּקוֹעִים וְאַדִּירֵיהֶם לֹא־הֵבִיאוּ צַוָּרָם בַּעֲבֹדַת אֲדֹנֵיהֶם׃ 3:5
Nehe. 3:5 And next to them the Tekoites repaired (but their nobles did not put their neck to the labor of their Master).
וְאֵת שַׁעַר הַיְשָׁנָה הֶחֱזִיקוּ יוֹיָדָע בֶּן־פָּסֵחַ וּמְשֻׁלָּם בֶּן־בְּסוֹדְיָה הֵמָּה קֵרוּהוּ וַיַּעֲמִידוּ דַּלְתֹתָיו וּמַנְעֻלָיו 3:6
וּבְרִיחָיו׃
Nehe. 3:6 And Joiada son of Peseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah repaired the oldest gate. They laid its beams and set up its doors and its bolts and its bars.
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק מְלַטְיָה הַגִּבְעֹנִי וְיָדוֹן הַמֵּרֹנֹתִי אַנְשֵׁי גִבְעוֹן וְהַמִּצְפָּה לְכִסֵּא פַּחַת עֵבֶר הַנָּהָר׃ 3:7
Nehe. 3:7 And next to them Melatiah, the Gibeonite, repaired, with Jadon, the Meronothite, of the men of Gibeon, and he was the observer for the throne of the governor of the region beyond the river.
עַל־יָדֹו הֶחֱזִיק עֻזִּיאֵל בֶּן־חַרְהֲיָה צֹורְפִים וְעַל־יָדֹו הֶחֱזִיק חֲנַנְיָה בֶּן־הָרַקָּחִים וַיַּעַזְבוּ יְרוּשָׁלִַם עַד 3:8
הַחֹומָה הָרְחָבָה׃
Nehe. 3:8 Next to him Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the goldsmiths repaired. And next to him Hananiah, an apprentice of the perfumers, repaired. And they restored Jerusalem as far as the broad wall.
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק רְפָיָה בֶן־חוּר שַׂר חֲצִי פֶּלֶךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם׃ 3:9
Nehe. 3:9 And near them Rephaiah son of Hur, the leader of half the district of Jerusalem, repaired.
וְעַל־יָדָם הֶחֱזִיק יְדָיָה בֶן־חֲרוּמַף וְנֶגֶד בֵּיתֹו וְעַל־יָדֹו הֶחֱזִיק חַטּוּשׁ בֶּן־חֲשַׁבְנְיָה׃ 3:10
Nehe. 3:10 And near them Jedaiah son of Harumaph repaired, and in front of his house. And near him Hattush son of Hashabneiah repaired.
מִדָּה שֵׁנִית הֶחֱזִיק מַלְכִּיָּה בֶן־חָרִם וְחַשּׁוּב בֶּן־פַּחַת מוֹאָב וְאֵת מִגְדַּל הַתַּנּוּרִים׃ 3:11
Nehe. 3:11 Malchijah son of Harim repaired the next portion, with Hasshub son of Pahath-moab, and the tower of furnaces.
וְעַל־יָדוֹ הֶחֱזִיק שַׁלּוּם בֶּן־הַלּוֹחֵשׁ שַׂר חֲצִי פֶּלֶךְ יְרוּשָׁלִָם הוּא וּבְנוֹתָיו׃ 3:12
Nehe. 3:12 And next to that Shallum son of Hallohesh, the leader of half the district of Jerusalem, repaired, he and his daughters.
אֵת שַׁעַר הַגַּיְא הֶחֱזִיק חָנוּן וְיֹשְׁבֵי זָנוֹחַ הֵמָּה בָנוּהוּ וַיַּעֲמִידוּ דַּלְתֹתָיו מַנְעֻלָיו וּבְרִיחָיו וְאֶלֶף אַמָּה 3:13
בַּחוֹמָה עַד שַׁעַר הָשֲׁפוֹת׃
Nehe. 3:13 Hanun repaired the valley gate, with the inhabitants of Zanoah. They rebuilt it and set up its doors, its bolts and its bars, and a thousand cubits into the wall as far as the dung gate.
וְאֵת שַׁעַר הָאַשְׁפּוֹת הֶחֱזִיק מַלְכִּיָּה בֶן־רֵכָב שַׂר פֶּלֶךְ בֵּית־הַכָּרֶם הוּא יִבְנֶנּוּ וְיַעֲמִיד דַּלְתֹתָיו 3:14
מַנְעֻלָיו וּבְרִיחָיו׃
Nehe. 3:14 And Malchijah son of Rechab, the leader of the district of Beth-cherem, repaired the dung gate. He had to rebuild it, and he set up its doors, its bolts and its bars.
וְאֵת שַׁעַר הָעַיִן הֶחֱזִיק שַׁלּוּן בֶּן־כָּל־חֹזֶה שַׂר פֶּלֶךְ הַמִּצְפָּה הוּא יִבְנֶנּוּ וִיטַלְלֶנּוּ (וְיַעֲמִידוּ) [וְיַעֲמִיד 3:15
דַּלְתֹתָיו מַנְעֻלָיו וּבְרִיחָיו וְאֵת חֹומַת בְּרֵכַת הַשֶּׁלַח לְגַן־הַמֶּלֶךְ וְעַד־הַמַּעֲלֹות הַיֹּורְדֹות מֵעִיר דָּוִיד׃
Nehe. 3:15 And Shallun son of Col-hozeh, the leader of the district of Mizpah, repaired the fountain gate (he had to rebuild it, and he covered it and set up its doors, its bolts, and its bars), and the wall of the pool of Shelah in the garden of the king, and as far as the stairs descending from the city of David.
The word in the parentheses has an incorrect vav suffix. It is removed in the correction after the right bracket.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק נְחֶמְיָה בֶן־עַזְבּוּק שַׂר חֲצִי פֶּלֶךְ בֵּית־צוּר עַד־נֶגֶד קִבְרֵי דָוִיד וְעַד־הַבְּרֵכָה הָעֲשׂוּיָה 3:16
וְעַד בֵּית הַגִּבֹּרִים׃
Nehe. 3:16 Nehemiah son of Azbuk, the leader of half the district of Beth-zur, repaired next to it up to the front of the tombs of David, and as far as the completed pool, and up to the house of the mighty men.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַלְוִיִּם רְחוּם בֶּן־בָּנִי עַל־יָדוֹ הֶחֱזִיק חֲשַׁבְיָה שַׂר־חֲצִי־פֶלֶךְ קְעִילָה לְפִלְכּוֹ׃ 3:17
Nehe. 3:17 Next to that the Levites, Rachum son of Bani repaired. Next to it Hashabiah, the leader of half the district of Keilah, repaired, for his district.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיקוּ אֲחֵיהֶם בַּוַּי בֶּן־חֵנָדָד שַׂר חֲצִי פֶּלֶךְ קְעִילָה׃ 3:18
Nehe. 3:18 Next to him their brethren, Bavvai son of Henadad, the leader of half the district of Keilah, repaired.
וַיְחַזֵּק עַל־יָדוֹ עֵזֶר בֶּן־יֵשׁוּעַ שַׂר הַמִּצְפָּה מִדָּה שֵׁנִית מִנֶּגֶד עֲלֹת הַנֶּשֶׁק הַמִּקְצֹעַ׃ 3:19
Nehe. 3:19 And near him Ezer son of Jeshua, the leader of Mizpah, repaired another portion in front of the ascent of the corner buttress of the armory.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱרָה הֶחֱזִיק בָּרוּךְ בֶּן־(זַבַּי) [זַכַּי] מִדָּה שֵׁנִית מִן־הַמִּקְצֹועַ עַד־פֶּתַח בֵּית אֶלְיָשִׁיב הַכֹּהֵן 3:20

Nehe. 3:20 Beside him Baruch son of Zaccai furiously repaired another portion from the corner buttress up to the opening of the house of Eliashib, the high priest.
The word in the parentheses is the name Zabbai. That in the brackets is Zaccai, where the beth in the parentheses is replaced by a caph. Now the name Zabbai appears in one other place in the bible, in Ezra. The name Zaccai appears two other times. I don’t know how the decision was made that this should be Zaccai. I can’t say this is an error or is not an error.

Nehe. 3:21 Beside him Meremoth son of Uriah son of Hakkoz repaired another portion from the opening of the house of Eliashib and to the end of the house of Eliashib.
וְאַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים אַנְשֵׁי הַכִּכָּר׃ 3:22
Nehe. 3:22 And beside him the priests, men of the plain, repaired.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק בִּנְיָמִן וְחַשּׁוּב נֶגֶד בֵּיתָם אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק עֲזַרְיָה בֶן־מַעֲשֵׂיָה בֶּן־עֲנָנְיָה אֵצֶל בֵּיתֹו׃ 3:23
Nehe. 3:23 Beside this Benjamin, with Hashub, repaired the front of their house. Beside it Azariah son of Maaseiah son of Ananoah repaired in proximity of his own house.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק בִּנּוּי בֶּן־חֵנָדָד מִדָּה שֵׁנִית מִבֵּית עֲזַרְיָה עַד־הַמִּקְצוֹעַ וְעַד־הַפִּנָּה׃ 3:24
Nehe. 3:24 Beside him Binnui son of Henadad repaired another portion from the house of Azariah up to the corner buttress and as far as the corner.
פָּלָל בֶּן־אוּזַי מִנֶּגֶד הַמִּקְצוֹעַ וְהַמִּגְדָּל הַיּוֹצֵא מִבֵּית הַמֶּלֶךְ הָעֶלְיוֹן אֲשֶׁר לַחֲצַר הַמַּטָּרָה אַחֲרָיו פְּדָיָה 3:25
בֶן־פַּרְעֹשׁ׃
Nehe. 3:25 Palal son of Uzai was from in front of the corner buttress and the forward tower from the upper house of the king that is toward the enclosure of the guard. Pedaiah son of Parosh was beside him.
וְהַנְּתִינִים הָיוּ יֹשְׁבִים בָּעֹפֶל עַד נֶגֶד שַׁעַר הַמַּיִם לַמִּזְרָח וְהַמִּגְדָּל הַיּוֹצֵא׃ 3:26
Nehe. 3:26 And the Nethinim were setting at the Ophel up to the front of the water gate toward the east and the forward tower.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַתְּקֹעִים מִדָּה שֵׁנִית מִנֶּגֶד הַמִּגְדָּל הַגָּדוֹל הַיּוֹצֵא וְעַד חוֹמַת הָעֹפֶל׃ 3:27
Nehe. 3:27 Beside that the Tekoites repaired another portion from in front of the great forward tower and up to the wall of the Ophel.
מֵעַל שַׁעַר הַסּוּסִים הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים אִישׁ לְנֶגֶד בֵּיתוֹ׃ 3:28
Nehe. 3:28 From the gate of horses the priests repaired, each adjacent to his own house.
אַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק צָדֹוק בֶּן־אִמֵּר נֶגֶד בֵּיתֹו וְאַחֲרָיו הֶחֱזִיק שְׁמַעְיָה בֶן־שְׁכַנְיָה שֹׁמֵר שַׁעַר הַמִּזְרָח׃ 3:29
Nehe. 3:29 Beside that Zadok son of Immer repaired adjacent to his house. And beside him Shemaiah son of Shacaniah, keeper of the east gate, repaired.

Nehe. 3:30 Beside him Hananiah son of Shelemiah, with Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another portion. Beside him Meshullam son of Berechiah repaired adjacent to his chamber.
The word before the left parenthesis should have a vav suffix. The correction is in the brackets.

Nehe. 3:31 Beside him Malchijah, a goldsmith apprentice, repaired up to the house of the Nethinim and of the traders, adjacent to the gate of Hammiphkad and as far as the top chamber of the corner.
The identical error occurs here as in v. 3:30.
וּבֵין עֲלִיַּת הַפִּנָּה לְשַׁעַר הַצֹּאן הֶחֱזִיקוּ הַצֹּרְפִים וְהָרֹכְלִים׃ 3:32
Nehe. 3:32 And from the top chamber of the corner to the sheep gate the goldsmiths and the traders repaired.
וַיְהִי כַּאֲשֶׁר שָׁמַע סַנְבַלַּט כִּי־אֲנַחְנוּ בוֹנִים אֶת־הַחוֹמָה וַיִּחַר לוֹ וַיִּכְעַס הַרְבֵּה וַיַּלְעֵג עַל־הַיְּהוּדִים׃ 3:33
Nehe. 3:33 And it was when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, then he became angry about it and greatly indignant and had scorn for the Jews.
וַיֹּאמֶר לִפְנֵי אֶחָיו וְחֵיל שֹׁמְרוֹן וַיֹּאמֶר מָה הַיְּהוּדִים הָאֲמֵלָלִים עֹשִׂים הֲיַעַזְבוּ לָהֶם הֲיִזְבָּחוּ הַיְכַלּוּ 3:34
בַיּוֹם הַיְחַיּוּ אֶת־הָאֲבָנִים מֵעֲרֵמוֹת הֶעָפָר וְהֵמָּה שְׂרוּפוֹת׃
Nehe. 3:34 And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria and said, “What are the feeble Jews doing? Can they restore themselves? Will they sacrifice? Will they finish in a day? Can they bring the stones to life from the piles of debris, as they have been burned?”
וְטוֹבִיָּה הָעַמֹּנִי אֶצְלוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר גַּם אֲשֶׁר־הֵם בּוֹנִים אִם־יַעֲלֶה שׁוּעָל וּפָרַץ חוֹמַת אַבְנֵיהֶם׃ 3:35
Nehe. 3:35 And Tobiah, the Ammonite, was by him, and he said, “Indeed, whatever they are building, if a fox should go up, then it would break down any wall of their stones.”
שְׁמַע אֱלֹהֵינוּ כִּי־הָיִינוּ בוּזָה וְהָשֵׁב חֶרְפָּתָם אֶל־רֹאשָׁם וּתְנֵם לְבִזָּה בְּאֶרֶץ שִׁבְיָה׃ 3:36
Nehe. 3:36 Hear, our God, that we are a laughing stock! So return their scorn against their own head, and give them up for a spoil in a land of captivity.
וְאַל־תְּכַס עַל־עֲוֺנָם וְחַטָּאתָם מִלְּפָנֶיךָ אַל־תִּמָּחֶה כִּי הִכְעִיסוּ לְנֶגֶד הַבּוֹנִים׃ 3:37
Nehe. 3:37 And You must not cover over their iniquity, or blot out their sin from before You, if they have vexed in the face of the builders.
וַנִּבְנֶה אֶת־הַחוֹמָה וַתִּקָּשֵׁר כָּל־הַחוֹמָה עַד־חֶצְיָהּ וַיְהִי לֵב לָעָם לַעֲשׂוֹת׃ 3:38
Nehe. 3:38 Then we rebuilt the wall, and the entire wall was joined up to its half height, as was the people's heart to work.
Here in this last verse the first word, translated as then we rebuilt, is another exception to my theory of inverting vavs. According to me, the Hebrew should be וָאֲנַחְנוּ בָנִינוּ.
