Isaiah 35

Isai. 35:1   The wilderness shall be glad,

                             and the desert,

and the barren plain shall rejoice,

                             and bloom like a rose.

Isai. 35:2   Abundantly shall it blossom and rejoice,

                             with joy and singing.

He gives the glory of Lebanon to it,

the beauty of Carmel and of Sharon.

They shall experience the glory of the Lord,

                              the excellence of our God.

Isai. 35:3   Strengthen the hands of the weak,

and make firm the tottering knees!

Isai. 35:4   Say to the fearful of heart,

                             "Be strong! Do not fear!

Behold, your God shall come avenging."

An act of God, He will come

                    and be your Savior.

Isai. 35:5   Then shall the eyes of the blind open,

and the ears of the deaf unstop.

Isai. 35:6   Then the lame one shall leap like a hart,

and the tongue of the dumb one shall sing,

when water is breaking out in the wilderness,

and streams in the sterile plain,

Isai. 35:7   so the parched land shall become as a pool,

and the thirsty land as springs of water.

Within the habitat of jackals, a resting place,

a grassland for reeds and rushes.

Isai. 35:8   And there shall be a highway and a road,

and it shall be called the Holy Way.

Unclean ones shall not pass on it,

                              but it shall be for them who travel through;

even fools shall not go astray.

Isai. 35:9   There shall not be any lion there,

and of the ravenous of beasts,

none shall rise up on it.

It shall not be found there,

                    so the redeemed can walk.

Isai. 35:10   And the preserved of the Lord shall return,

and they shall enter Zion singing,

with joy everlasting on their heads.

Gladness and joy shall be attained,

and grief and groaning shall vanish.
