2Sam. 16:1 When David had passed a little from the top, then behold, Ziba, the servant of Mephibosheth, was coming to meet him with a couple of saddled asses, and two hundred loaves of bread and a hundred clusters of grapes and a hundred summer fruit and a bottle of wine were on them.
2Sam. 16:2 And the king said to Ziba, “What are these, yours?” And Ziba said, “The asses are for the king's household to ride. As for the bread and the summer fruit, for the young men to eat; and the wine is for the faint to drink in the wilderness.”
2Sam. 16:3 And the king said, “And where is the son of your master?” And Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he abides in Jerusalem, for he said, ‘The houses of Israel will today restore the kingdom of my father to me.’”
2Sam. 16:4 And the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that is Mephibosheth's is yours.” And Ziba said, “I prostrate myself; may I find favor in your eyes, my lord, O king.” [Return to 2Sam. 19:30]
2Sam. 16:5 When the king, David, would come as far as Bachurim, then behold, a man of the family of the house of Saul was coming out from there, and his name was Shimei son of Gera. He came out going forward and cursing.
2Sam. 16:6 And he struck David with stones, and all the servants of king David, and all the people and all the mighty who were at his right hand and his left.
2Sam. 16:7 And Shimei said thus in his curse: “Go away, go away, man of blood and man of wickedness!”
2Sam. 16:8 “The Lord has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul that you have reigned in his stead, and the Lord has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom, your son, and here you are in your wretchedness, for you are a man of blood.”
The word in parentheses is missing a yad. The correction is in the brackets.

2Sam. 16:11 And David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my son who came forth from my bowels is seeking my life, so how much more now because of a Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse, for the Lord has told to him.”
The Benjamite referred to here by David is Shimei.
2Sam. 16:12 “Maybe the Lord will look into my sin and the Lord will replace good for me instead of his cursing this day.”
2Sam. 16:13 Then David went with his men on the way while Shimei went alongside the hill near him, going as he cursed and threw with stones and kicked with dust.
2Sam. 16:14 When the king came, with all the people who were with him, to Ayephim, then he refreshed himself there.
2Sam. 16:15 And Absalom and all the people, men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Achithophel was with him.

2Sam. 16:17 And Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this how you favor your friend? Why did you not follow your friend?”
2Sam. 16:18 And Hushai said to Absalom, “No, but whom the Lord has chosen, and this people and all the men of Israel, his will I be and with him shall I abide.”
The misspelled word in the parentheses is corrected in the brackets.
2Sam. 16:19 “And secondly, for whom shall I be a servant? Shall it not be before his son? As I served before your father, so I will before you.”

2Sam. 16:22 So they spread a tent for Absalom on the roof of the house and Absalom went in to the concubines of his father to the eyes of all Israel.
