2Chr. 12:1 And it was when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established and at its strength, he abandoned the Torah of the Lord, and all Israel was with him.
2Chr. 12:2 And it was in the fifth year for king Rehoboam. Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem (because they had been unfaithful to the Lord),

2Chr. 12:3 with twelve hundred chariots and with sixty thousand horsemen, and there was no number for the people who had come with him from Egypt, Lubim, Succim, and Ethiopians.
2Chr. 12:4 And he took the stronghold cities that were Judah's, and he came as far as Jerusalem.
2Chr. 12:5 And Shemaiah, the prophet, came to Rehoboam and the princes of Judah who had gathered in Jerusalem because of Shishak, and he said to them, “Thus says the Lord: ‘You have forsaken Me. And therefore I have left you in the hand of Shishak.’”
2Chr. 12:6 But the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves, and they said, “The Lord is righteous.”
2Chr. 12:7 Then on the Lord seeing that they had humbled themselves, the word of the Lord occurred to Shemaiah saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, and I will grant a few of theirs for deliverance, and My ‘wrath’ will not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.”
2Chr. 12:8 But they shall be his for servants, so they may know of My service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.
2Chr. 12:9 So Shishak, king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem and took the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the house of the king; he took it all away. And he took the shields of gold that Solomon had made.
This verse and the next are reminiscent of 1Kin. 14:26 and 14:27.
2Chr. 12:10 And the king, Rehoboam, made in their place shields of brass that he could commit to the hand of the leaders of the guards protecting the door of the house of the king.
2Chr. 12:11 And it was whenever the king entered the house of the Lord, the guards came and would lift them up and return them to the chamber of the guards.
This verse is similar to 1Kin. 14:28.
2Chr. 12:12 And with his humbling himself, the “anger” of the Lord turned from him, so as not to destroy completely, and also in Judah there occurred good acts.
2Chr. 12:13 And the king, Rehoboam, strengthened himself in Jerusalem and remained king, for Rehoboam was forty-one years of age on his becoming king, and was king seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city where, out of all the tribes of Israel, the Lord chose to put His name. And the name of his mother was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
2Chr. 12:14 And he did evil, for his heart was not prepared to seek the Lord.
2Chr. 12:15 And the acts of Rehoboam, the first as well as the last, are they not written in the sayings of Shemaiah, the prophet, and of Iddo, the seer, reckoning genealogically, as well as the continual wars of Rehoboam and Jeroboam.
This verse has some resemblance to 1Kin. 14:29, but the information is different.
2Chr. 12:16 Then Rehoboam slept with his ancestors and was buried in the city of David, and Abijah, his son, became king in his place.
And this verse has some resemblance to 1Kin. 14:31. There the name of Abijah is spelled as Abijam.
