2Chr. 10:6   Then the king, Rehoboam, consulted with the elders who had been standing before Solomon, his father, during his being alive saying, “What word would you be advising to give back to this people?”

2Chr. 10:10   And the young men who grew up with him spoke with him saying, “You should say thus to the people who spoke to you saying, ‘Your father made our yoke harsh, but you make lighter than it was upon us’ -- thus you must say to them: ‘My little finger is thicker than the loins of my father.’

2Chr. 10:11   ‘So now, my father loaded upon you a harsh yoke, but I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, but I, with scorpions.’”

2Chr. 10:13   And the king answered them severely; so the king, Rehoboam, ignored the advice of the elders,

2Chr. 10:16   And all Israel, when the king had not listened to them, then the people answered the king saying,

Now look after your own house, David.”
