Isai. 2:1   The thing that Isaiah son of Amoz beheld about Judah and Jerusalem:

Isai. 2:2   And it shall be in the end of days.

The mountain of the house of the Lord

Shall be established on top of the mountains,

And more lofty than the hills,

And all the nations shall gravitate to it.

I presume this is another vision.  This verse informs us that it is about the end times, and all the nations will come to the mount of the Lord -- the temple mount -- the mountain of the house of the Lord.  Does this mean that the temple will be reestablished at the end times?

Isai. 2:3   And many peoples shall go and they shall say,

“Come and we will go up to the mountain of the Lord,

To the house of the God of Jacob,

And He will teach us of His ways,

And we will walk in His paths.”

For from Zion shall come forth the Torah

And the word of the Lord, from Jerusalem.

I have to ask, why do Christian scholars ignore this prophetic vision of Isaiah’s?  Do they not see it as authentic?  Do they not understand that he tells us that all the nations will come to the God of Jacob in the end?  Why do they continue to contend that the remaining Jews will all convert to Christianity?  Don’t these verses predict quite the opposite?

Isai. 2:4   And He shall judge between the nations,

And be convincing to many peoples,

And they shall beat their swords to plowshares

And their spears to pruning hooks.

Nation shall not lift up the sword to nation,

And they shall not instruct war any more.

Isai. 2:5   O house of Jacob,

Come and we will walk in the light of the Lord.

Isai. 2:6   Certainly You have forsaken Your people,

                 The house of Jacob,

Because of its fullness from the east,

                  And soothsayers, like the Philistines,

That would wallow with the boys of aliens.

Isai. 2:7   And its land is so full of silver and gold

That there is no limit to its treasures,

And its land is so full of horses

That there is no limit to its chariots.

Isai. 2:8   And its land is full of idols;

                 They would do obeisance

To the products of its own hand,

To what its own fingers have made.

Isai. 2:9   And a man bows down

                 And another lowers himself,

But You will not arise for them.

Isai. 2:10   He goes into the refuge

Or he hides in the dust

From before the terror of the Lord

And from the glory of His majesty.

Isai. 2:11   The lofty looks of men have been brought low,

And the haughtiness of everyone will be bowed,

So the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

Isai. 2:12   For it will be a day for the Lord of hosts

Over all the proud and haughty

                   And over everyone lifted up

                   Who will be brought low,

Isai. 2:13   And over all the high and lifted up

                   Cedars of Lebanon,

And over all the oaks of Bashan,

Isai. 2:14   And over all the high mountains

And over all the lifted up hills,

Isai. 2:15   And over every high tower

                    And over every fortified wall,

Isai. 2:16   And over all the ships of Tarshish

And over all the pictures of delight.

Isai. 2:17   And the lofty of mankind will be bowed down,

And the haughty of men brought low,

So the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

Isai. 2:18   And the idols shall be wholly abolished.

Isai. 2:19   And they shall depart into the crevices of rocks

And into the caves of the earth

From before the terror of the Lord

And from the glory of His majesty

Upon His rousing up to terribly shake the earth.

Isai. 2:20   On that day every man shall cast off

                   The idols of his silver

And the idols of his gold

That became for worship to him,

For the burrowing creatures and for the bats

Isai. 2:21   Going into the crevices of the rocks

And into the fissures of the crags

From before the terror of the Lord

And from the glory of His majesty

Upon His arising to mightily shake the earth.

Isai. 2:22   Leave yourselves off from any man

In whom there is breath in his nostrils!

For of what value is he?
